As your agent, NSW Trustee and Guardian (formerly Public Trustee NSW) holds your funds in its Common Fund with the choice of the fixed interest Primary Portfolio and/or the unitised Growth Portfolio.
The Common Fund Primary Portfolio
The Primary Portfolio invests in a variety of fixed interest investments. The monies held in the Primary Portfolio are “at call” and are capital guaranteed. The current interest rate is 6.5% per annum.
The Common Fund Growth Portfolio
The Growth Portfolio’s aim is to provide both capital and income growth. With a low management fee structure there are minimal entry requirements and simple terms and conditions for corporate clients with $500,000 or more to invest. The Common Fund Growth Portfolio invests funds in the share market with the aim of providing both income and capital growth, and there is no capital guarantee.
The Growth Portfolio is managed for the NSW Trustee and Guardian by the NSW Treasury Corporation, which, in turn, invests in the share market.
